Once upon a time I had the privilege of interning at an esteemed Street Wear/Evolving Fashion Blog, Arguably the very best one out there…There were definitely perks and one of which I particularly enjoyed was event coverage! Growing up as an only child I developed a love for people and interacting with them (some of them). So getting out and meeting varieties of people with a common interest in fashion is an awesome experience. On this particular night in San Francisco Legendary denim producer extraordinare’ Levi’s opened the doors of their tri-level retail space to unveil a special collaboration and artistic San Francisco was in the house to show their support. I recognized quite a few designers from the local shows in attendance. To make a long story short overall it was a good night! I was accompanied by a gorgeous young lady, got some good event photos for my boss (that I don’t think ever got the light of day on the main site) and captured these images of fellow attendees who weren’t too shabby. Web Series “Put This On” launched about 10 months ago with the theme of Teaching the masses how to dress like adults which is a problem that actually needs addressing throughout america. There are times when I see guys in their 50′s and 60′s walking around with a three sizes too big “Go dumb and Get paper” t-shirt and I just think wow! I throughly enjoy these videos as they are full of useful information. Thus far they have covered denim, footwear and a segment about dressing for work. The more familiar you become with me you will come to realize that I like Kanye…..It’s no bromance or man crush or anything funny like that but I just think some of the same things he says and does…my no means all but some. I can say I like his style for the most part but sometimes he goes over the deep end and thats the difference between a celebrity who is trying to set trends and a normal guy who just dresses to please himself.Continue on for our picks for duplicating this look. Another thing is that I wear a suit more than the average guy, I mean like 4-5 times a week…Its real serious. With that said the tie situation can get a little routine, like not this striped tie again or this poka dot tie again….. The solution to my problem is in the above picture of Kanye! Solids! Yes solid ties but not plain solid ties but knit solids to add some flair and uniqueness.

Our niche may be Indie Fashion but at the end of the day we love clothes. Most cities these days have a Zara store and when I first discovered the San Francisco store I was impressed and I remember saying ”its like H&M but better!”. To this day I frequent Zara, the items are great for mixing and matching and when done right you can make a 30 dollar jacket look like a million bucks.
